Enjoying the golden days of Autumn - with fighting boys

The trails of Kensington seen through Remy's ears.

Sunshine and temps in the 40sF called for a trailride today. Chambord and Remy had been playing hard the last couple of days, rearing, bucking, mock fighting, probably prompted by the cooler temps and overall "feeling their oats". We have prime viewing locations to observe their antics - from the kitchen, sunroom, and bedroom. Sometimes its best to close the eyes, and not to think about vet bills. Luckily so far no one has been getting hurt.

Usually they don't take the play behavior into (under saddle) work. I have no idea what got into the two of them today, they were like little kids egging each other on in the backseat of their parent's car. Chambord nipped Remy's hind end which prompted Remy to hump up and pretend to buck. In return, Remy tried to get to Chambord and almost caught JP in the process. Really guys?

We were happy that both of them stayed calm when we came by a dead deer tangled in the fence that separates the park from private properties. Very sad. The riders behind us were not so fortunate. Their horses pranced up to us, completely lathered in sweat. Luckily Remy didn't pick up on their distress, as he usually does, and stayed calm. Bickering with his best friend sure took his mind off anything else.

By the time we got home all was well, they both were united in the quest of "What's for dinner and when will it be served?"
