'Hairy' times - and a squishy ride

Today it was warm enough to give all four boys a good grooming. There is no doubt, even if it looks like this:

Shedding season has official started. Especially Saumur and Teddy are two very furry critters. They are easy to groom, though, as their winter coat comes out in nice big chunks. Chambord, however, has the softest and finest hair I've ever seen on a horse. It's beautiful - but it sticks with a vengeance to anything it comes in contact with. This big "manly guy" just absolutely loves to be groomed and pampered. He is very much in tune with his feminine side, even though he would never ever admit it!

We took Chambord and Remy out on the trails today, it was quite the 'squishy' affair. The snow was melting, leaving the trails very soggy and wet. Chambord had a great time playing in the remaining snow, and both conquered the swampy, sticky ground. Good thing they are barefoot, we certainly would have left some shoes behind.

Remy was a bit late to the party. And why? Apparently he didn't want to add more water to the ground, so he (figuratively) crossed his legs until he really, really had to pee. I sure wish I could sit him down and say "Listen, buddy, you make both of us miserable. Just GO before we go!"
